Amanda Altman with Pilates Style Magazine asked me this simple question, "How does my spiritual practice enhance my pilates practice as a teacher? I certainly don't take spirituality lightly. In fact it is the forefront of my life and the steering wheel to the decisions I make.
Here's my short interview with Amanda:
SWEET SURRENDER
WHO: Natasha Bosa Boffo, owner of Pilates by Natasha in Vancouver, BC, Canada
WHAT SHE DOES: Yoga, meditative movement
HOW IT FOSTERS PERSONAL GROWTH:
My spiritual practice consists of surrendering to a higher power through prayer and balancing my soul through meditation. I connect mostly with meditative movement, similar to that of qigong, where the changing elements of each season respond to our bodies’ need to find balance. I connect with
nature daily; sitting quietly by the sea or going for a hike in the forest is my ultimate meditation.
WHY IT NURTURES HER PILATES PRACTICE:
Yoga brings the mind, body and soul into preparation for meditation. This ritual allows me to completely let go of the outside world, let go of ego and bring the body into the present, which enhances my Pilates practice.
