âWhat do you feel could make your life happier?â A common question a therapist may ask a new patient. I took a deeper look at the aspect of happiness. What it really means and what makes people crave that feeling of happiness. There are thousands of articles and theories pertaining to happiness. Why? Perhaps human kind, is in essence, unhappy?! đ¤ˇđťââď¸ Wikipedia describes happiness: in context of an emotional state, life satisfaction, subjective well-being.
Is happiness constant? Absolutely not. It would be quite obnoxious to see human kind prancing đŚ around in a state of 100% bliss all the time. We would never even know what happiness actually feels like. Being present allows us to ride the waves and when we hit a low it is really felt. Yet when we hit a high, it certainly feels pretty darn good.
I personally have yet to meet anyone who is truly in a constant state of happiness through things. Further, I have yet to meet anyone who is living a happy life enduring a self fulfilling prophecy. Itâs a wonderful feeling when we reach out to someone in need; a loved one or a stranger. Itâs an uplifting feeling when we share a beautiful story about another human being. I have concluded that a true emotional state of happiness is and can only be found when our words and actions to others primarily direct the path to being happy. BE happiness. đ
